Have you ever wondered how your attic might affect your path into the future? What if you could organize what lies ahead and allow new opportunities to develop? Open your feng shui eyes, look up, and take a serious look at your head space and above. Your attic, if you have one, symbolizes your future.
Remember, what is at your feet or below resonates with your past. If you moved into your new digs six months ago and your stuff is still in boxes, your art work still standing on the floor, leaning against the wall, you might be stuck somewhere in the past, irritated by some unresolved issue and blocked from moving forward.
Hang a beautiful picture into your head space and start thinking about rising energy. Then write your script for space clearing your attic, your bonus room above the garage, your loft, or the topmost shelf in your closet. Imagine a closet so stuffed and top heavy that everything comes crashing down.
Ask questions about your overhead space. Do you know what's up there. If not, you're groping your way into an uncertain future. Is it accessible? Does it have a trap door? A rickety ladder? Easy access is crucial in creating your path. Is there a light or are you facing mysterious darkness?
Once you come face to face with this upper terrain and the secrets it holds, assess what might be your best mode of attack. I bet you don't remember what's up there! If not, haul everything out and down!
Now start sorting and organizing. Hold each object and ask "do I want this in my future? What does it mean? What will it do for me?" Then create your piles of must have, must keep. The rest goes into piles for recycle, trash or Good Will.
Repacking and storing it away can best be done with feng shui as an analogy of how to design a clear and prosperous future. Think about creating possibilities!

• Storage bins need to be rodent proof, bug proof and moth proof
• Accessibility and legibility is key in creating a clear path into a prosperous future.
• Balance of yin and yang space is essential.
• Lighting could be adjusted with timers or remote controls.
• Keeping an inventory of unused or rarely used materials is best for easy reference.
