More than One Way to Make Your Mark

Want to refresh your home? Don’t panic if you don’t have time to re-paint a whole room, or even a whole wall, there’s always more than one way you can make your mark on your home.

Re-painting, upcycling and adding a pattern to different pieces of furniture can easily turn something functional into a key design feature of any room, for example:

Chairs

Painting your kitchen or dining room chairs can instantly refresh a room with very little effort. Before painting make sure that you’ve got a clear work space and have prepped your surface with sander and primer.

Crown's Non-Drip Gloss and Satin ranges are best for painting on to wood furniture and you can either go for a design like dipped leg, two tone or pick a feature colour to repaint the whole chair.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match to give more of a cosy feel, lots of simple designs can be easily recreated.
Drawers
Drawers are perfect for upcycling. You don’t even have to paint them all to create a really impactful transformation, you could use different shades of the same colour to create an ombre effect or add a straight line pattern with some masking tape to create a statement piece.

These chevrons, done in Beige White and Soft Shadow, complement the natural tone of the wood and incorporate the unpainted stripes into the overall pattern. The bottom draw is also painted in Rich Cream to complement the busy pattern.
Coffee Table
Similar to the dipped leg chairs, half or quarter painting a wooden coffee table can create a stylish feature and draw attention to the natural beauty of the wooden surface. The Oxford Blue Gloss ties the table into the colour scheme of the rest of the room and complements the industrial styling.

So before you buy new, why not see if you can Make Your Mark on something you already own and maybe freshen up a room in your home for minimal effort and cost.
